Moondog Medicinal’s Story

My name is Shannon McCoy, and I am the owner and cultivator of Plant Magic at Moondog Medicinals. As a professional botanist and ecologist, I have spent the past decade conducting plant surveys and ecological work with various government agencies. Along the way, my passion for plants led me to explore ethnobotany, culminating in an herbal apprenticeship with the Columbine School of Botanical Studies to deepen my knowledge. From this journey, Moondog Medicinals was born - An herbal apothecary dedicated to harnessing the healing power of nature for wellness.

My product line includes a range of tinctures, salves, syrups, and teas/smoking blends, all freshly created from sustainably wildcrafted and organically grown medicinal plants, which I personally collected from the Rocky Mountains in Montana and Idaho and Cascade Mountains in Oregon and Washington.

In bringing Moondog Medicinals to market, my mission is ultimately to provide consumers with a full line of organic natural medicine alternatives that are not only of the highest quality but also affordable. As you can imagine, this is no small endeavor, especially since this passion of mine is currently a side gig to other, full-time work and graduate studies. But with your support — and at times likely your patience as well — I look forward to fulfilling my mission!

When not working with plants, I spend a lot of my time cooking, hiking, rafting, skiing, yogaing, experiencing as much live music as possible, and — best of all — hanging with my two pups, Jed and Millie, and my loving husband, Nick.
