Moondog Medicinal’s Story

My name is Shannon McCoy, and I am the owner and cultivator of plant magic at Moondog Medicinals. A botanist and ecologist by profession, I’ve spent the better part of the last decade working for various government agencies mostly doing plant surveying, monitoring, and restoration of native habitats. Although I love this work and it’s been incredibly rewarding, I felt the need to dive deeper into botany. Driven by vision and passion, I took a huge leap of faith and returned to school to study herbalism — the foundation for my own herbal apothecary marketplace, tapping nature for healing and well-being!

My product line includes a range of tinctures, salves, syrups, and teas/smoking blends, all freshly created from sustainably wildcrafted and organically grown medicinal plants, which I personally collected from the Cascade Mountains of Oregon.

In bringing Moondog Medicinals to market, my mission is ultimately to provide consumers with a full line of organic natural medicine alternatives that are not only of the highest quality but also affordable. As you can imagine, this is no small endeavor, especially since this passion of mine is currently a side gig to other, full-time work. But with your support — and at times likely your patience as well — I look forward to fulfilling my mission!

When not working with plants, I spend a lot of my time cooking, hiking, rafting, skiing, yogaing, experiencing as much live music as possible, and — best of all — hanging with my two pups, Jed and Millie, and my loving husband, Nick.
